U.S. Bancorp / US Bank Complaint - Identity Stolen? We Don't Care. We Don't Have To! We're US Bank!!
MINNEOAPOLIS, MINNESOTA -- Several years ago, as my marriage was unravelling, my now-ex apparently opened in my name, without my knowledge or consent a rather hefty credit account with US Bank.
The month before she filed for divorce, she racked this credit card up to the gills with purchases but mostly with balance transfers from credit cards she'd gotten in her name alone...essentially taking those account balances to zero while racking "my" credit card(s...she did this with a dozen such account) up to the max.
I learned of all this only after the divorce. While most of the account holders were difficult to work with, most of them, when confronted with the reality that I did not open these accounts, that they have nothing--not one document bearing my actual signature and that some of them even have voice imprints from some other guy, not one has been quite as bad as US Bank which utterly refuses to deal with the reality of this being a crime.
Anyway, they "sold" this to a collection agency that cannot legally attempt to collect from me in my state, but this has not stopped them from reporting it to the collection agencies.
It looks like I am going to have to file a slander of credit lawsuit against US Bank and their collection agency to get this to go away.
But that's okay...if that's the way they want to play this, after ridding myself of more than $100,000 of other fraudulent debt, I am up for visiting with them in court.
