R & W Heating Complaint - Cash payment in emergency unwarranted, retaliation????
UNCASVILLE, CONNECTICUT -- We woke up to a cold house with no heat in 17 degree weather. Upon calling R&W heating, they asked if we had our annual cleaning. We purchased our boiler from them 6ys ago, and have had it cleaned annually ever since, however we are a month late this year, having it last cleaned Dec. 6, 2010. They informed us that it was in their records that we missed our annual cleaning and they could not tell us what time they would be out. We are 2 senior citizens in a cold house worring about the possibility of our pipes freezing. They requested $20.00 to come out and $130.00 an hour with payment in cash. After being their customer for 6 years and never defaulting on a payment, we feel that cash is an unfair request and possible retaliation. Additionally, we should have been given some idea ofwhen they would be able to provide service.
