I like my meat well done also. I make it very clear to the person taking my order that my "well done" is very well done. My major complaint is that the cooks usually slice into my steaks to check the doneness which dries the meat out.

A good restaurant will have cooks that know how to cook meat to any temperature correctly.

I wouldn't order a steak at TRH or any of the mid-priced chains - I've had too many experiences of poor food preparation. Actually, I have curtailed my patronage of all mid-priced chains. If the chances of a bad experience are 20% or more that is unacceptable to me. As you say, an "I'm sorry" simply doesn't cut it.

On the occasions that I've been at restaurants that delay my wife or children's orders, I wait until their's arrives before eating mine. As tempting as it may be, I would feel awkward eating in front of them as they wait. I wish you better luck on your next anniversary dinner:)

Went to TRH. Ordered, got our appetizer and still nothing to drink. Finally came an told us they ran out of mugs it would be a little bit. Finally got drink and the mug was very warm, it must have just came out of dishwasher. Cold drink in warm mug, great. Then brought my steak, 10 oz. Ribeye which was half fat. After done with that I had to ask for the Chili which he forgot to bring and make it to go. Not the first time they forgot to bring something. I think I am done with them for awhile. Steak place that serves a nasty steak like that, a joke!
