QVC Complaint - Pressure Cooker

Complaint
Review by gtrotter005 on 2012-01-22
I have had it for about 6 years. About 3 years ago, the inside bubbled up and is very coming loose. I am afraid to use it. I love it, but it is scary to cook food in it.

At 6 years, your pressure cooker may be at the end of its life. You got a lot of use out of it. Maybe it's time to buy a new one.

you are right to not use it when the non-stick coating is peeling. i once liked non-stick, but after all the failures, i now prefer stainless steel interiors.

Same here. Even if you "baby" nonstick/Teflon coatings on cookware (such as using plastic utensils, non-abrasive cleaners, etc.), the coatings can still get scratched and/or flake off. And food can still stick and/or get scorched on these pots/pans/etc., making cleanup difficult without ruining the finish. At least stainless steel cookware could be scoured with steel wool or abrasive cleansers. Just remember to spray Pam on them before cooking.

I have T-Fal cookware (made in France) from QVC that is 20 years old, and the nonstick coating is still intact. If it gets scratched or gouged, it doesn't flake or peel off. So it can be done.

Is the pressure cooker from Cook's Essentials? I'm waiting for replacement of a regular pot that had the same problem. The coating bubbled up and peeled off. You should contact QVC and ask about the lifetime warranty. You may be eligible for a replacement.
