Spirit Airlines Complaint - Spirit Airlines = Talking Pie Holes
GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS -- Spirit Airlines (Talking Pie Holes)
I flew from Bogota, Colombia to Ft. Lauderdale last Wednesday and arrived to catch my ongoing flight to DFW with an hour to do the following:-navigate through a very crowded and long line at customs (it took over an hour to finally claim luggage, recheck it and then re-enter security for my ongoing Spirit flight to DFW). Ergo, I was frustrated to hear my name called as part of the last boarding call when I still had my shoes off. Subseuently and obviously, I missed my ongoing flight.
What did Spirit do to help me? They cavalierly shuffled me off to an assistance kiosk, where I was given a hotel "discount" voucher that cost me $ 109 per night, no food, no transportation, no empathy, no sympathy and no customer service. In fact one of the supervisors advised that this was a Standard Operating Procedure and blamed customs for my financial losses incurred. As a private concern, with little concern for its customers, Spirit Airlines may be following its policies in mistreating stranded passengers but this is not only unfair, it may well be in violation of the Consumer Protection Act. With so many complaints such as mine already on the record, is congress looking into their breach of contract and trust with passengers from a legal compliance point of concern?
They certainly violated my rights as a consumer. Whom else may I contact?
Thank you sincerely,
