JM Lexus Complaint - JM Lexus Threatens Instead of Providing Service
COCONUT CREEK, FLORIDA -- After purchasing a used Lexus that was still under factory warranty and purchasing a Lexus Platinum extended warranty I took the car to JM Lexus to have a few things looked at and a general inspection. One item that concerned me was the corrosion and flaking of the paint on the front wheels only. This was noted and pictures were taken.
I was told several days later that the wheels were not under any warranty and that the condition was environmental and cosmetic. I was referred to the Lexus Customer Care phone number. I called 5 times over a period of 25 days before ever hearing from them. After the 25 days the only person that would speak to me was the supervisor at the phone center offering apologies as to why no one would return my calls and address my concern.
After being told that they would do nothing and there was nothing I could do about it, I decided to stand on the corner by JM Lexus in Coconut Creek FL with a sign that read Lexus Ignores Problems. Their response to this was to come out, take my picture and threatened me with calling my employer since "they have contacts" and would be sure "this would cost me". I am sure they have "contacts" at many companies. All they have to do is google someone to find out a lot about you. Be careful what you put in business profile sites. They contacted my employer and sent the picture to the corporate office.
I would not have expected this from a company and a dealership that counts on a reputation for repeat business. Needless to say I am no longer a Lexus owner and will never own their product again. I was so upset I created a website LexusBlows.com to help get my frustration out. As you can see I am still pretty upset that a large company and a dealership can stoop so low as to threaten ones employment over such a minor issue that could have easily been fixed gaining them a customer for life. I must agree that I did not expect the wheel issue to be resolved. I just wanted an explanation that made sense. All they did was ignore me hoping I would go away. Pursuit of perfection????
