Iolo Complaint - Steer clear of Iolo's System Mechanic
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- I have used Iolo's System Mechanic for a few years now but within one month of a recent upgrade Iolo has managed to convert me from a happy customer to hostile "Don't touch it!â
It seems they have changed the software (and donât want to admit it) so that it now requires an internet connection to validate the license at all times. If the software is not allowed to go out on the internet whenever it wants, after five or six attempts, it simply disables itself. Multiple attempts to have a real conversation (only possible via e-mail) result in fluffy and imprecise answers.
After two or three e-mails back and forth they simply declined to continue the conversation and ignored any other communications (case # CAS-1016406).
It seems they would rather ignore a customer than answer questions that they find embarrassing.
I will try to get a refund of the upgrade fee but, based on experience to date, it seems unlikely I will even be able to talk to a real person; presumably my only option will be to initiate a credit card dispute.
