SPRINGDALE, ARKANSAS -- I am on a fixed income and buy only what's needed. I purchased a roll of 80/20 in a
3 lb roll. at Walmart. About made me sick when opening it. More fat and in chunks throughout meat. Someone is not doing their job of quality control. I'm sorry to say I will not buy meat from Walmart any more. I took pictures of some of the meat to show you.

While you could file a complaint with Walmart or try to file one with TSD, your solution of taking your business elsewhere is the easiest and most direct. We bought one of those 3 lb. rolls a couple of years ago and had the same problem you did. We don't buy hamburger rolls from Walmart anymore, either.

I haven't posted this article in a while, but I think it's a good reminder to be very careful about where you purchase ground beef.

If you read the whole article, you won't want to eat ground beef without knowing where it came from. I now only buy ground beef from my supermarket where I have been assured that it is ground daily on the premises with no additives or byproducts.

Please don't eat these rolls of ground beef regardless of where they are purchased. If the sight of it made you sick, imagine the damage it can do if you eat it.

Excellent article, Venice. Our market grinds their own beef (we use mostly 92/8) and though it's a bit more expensive, I think we'll pay more and at least feel safer.

I have never purchased a single piece of meat or meat product at WallsMart. I looked in the meat department a few times, and couldn't understand what I was seeing.

I buy ground beef from stores I trust (Wegman's & Giant) - their meat departments are both excellent. I personally purchase 80/20 and 85/15 all the time, as it it juicier. The meat is always uniform throughout, with none of the hijinx you experienced.

Good review.
