Defective Pool Cue - Complaint

ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- I purchased a pool cue from GEBHARDTS, Airport Road, Allentown, Pa in October 2011. I shoot pool once a week, and take care of my equipment.
Last week the tip ferrule cracked in 2 places under the tip. I paid cash for the cue but cannot find the receipt. I called Gebhardts several times to find out what I could do about it, and got a runaround. I don't recommend buying equipment from these people because they don't stand behind their merchandise.

Been selling stuff to Meucci for many years. Have a couple of their cues. Great cue and great people.

Some cue manufacturers offer lifetime warranties. However, they require that you send the cue back to them for ferrule replacement; if you do it yourself, it voids the warranty. In the absence of a warranty, they should have replacement parts for purchase. Be careful if you DIY, and make sure the replacement ferrule is an exact match.
