Burger King - Sorry, BK, but you dropped the ball on this one
New onion rings - Complaint
CENTRALIA, WASHINGTON -- Burger King had a big ad campaign to invite people to come in and try the new onion rings on Super Bowl weekend. Normally, I am a big BK fan, and loved the new fries they brought out. However, I am glad they were giving them free, because if I had had to pay for them, knowing what I know now, I would go with the fries. They are not technically onion rings, but seem to have been made out of an onion paste formed into ring shapes, they lacked the traditional texture and taste of standard onion rings. I do not expect to ever purchase any. The very best onion rings I have ever had were made by the A&W Root Beer sand in Indianapolis when I was a teen. They did not taste like cornmeal, as most onion rings do, but were made with a beer batter that gave a puffy, delicious coat for the onion rings, about 3/8 of an inch thick. BK, you dropped the ball with these pseudo onion rings.
