Sears auto repair - Incompetent auto mechanic
brakes - Complaint
MASSAPEQUA, NEW YORK -- The week of February 1st, 2012, I called Sears Auto to inquire if they could do brakes for my 1999 range rover, was told yes, bring it in. Took the car over 2-14 for brakes. Received call later in the evening stating car was ready and could pick it up. the price was $819.00, which I gave a check for. When I left the brakes still felt the same as when I took the car in, plus the brake, abs, tc lights were lit on the dash and never went off. Since it was late I decided to bring it back next day, which I did. It went back to the shop for adjustment. However, later was called and told it needed calipers, which they had failed to tell me initially. also they wanted an additional $400. I told them this should have been told to me when I first brought the car in. Young female clerk said she failed to tell me about the calipers. (whose fault was that) I was upset and said I was not going to pay any more money and I want my money back since they did not fix the brakes, plus I could have had an accident due to faulty brakes which was their fault. I am extremely upset and angry. I want some kind of restitution because of incompetence.
