Kohls - Expired Kcups

Complaint

ONLINE, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I ordered kcups from Kohls online a few weeks ago for myself and my son-in-law. Received them quickly, but one box had expired. Several boxes had expiration dates ending in 6 to 8 weeks. I had used a 30% off coupon, so we ordered about 8, 18 cup boxes. I've purchased lots of kcups and the boxes have always had long expiration dates. Some from Khols stores, and at other stores. We knew we wouldn't use all the kcups before they expired, so I call customer service.

The lady I spoke with told me not to use the ones that had expired, and I could get a refund for that box, or they would send me another box to replace it. I opted for another box of kcups since I was getting them at the sale price.

As for the other boxes with short expiration time, she told me I could return them by mail, or to my closest Kohls. At that point she also stated, I CAN'T GUARANTEE THE BOX YOU GET THAT REPLACES THE EXPIRED ONE WILL BE EXPIRED ALSO.

I thought that won't happen twice, surely a store as popular as Kohls wouldn't knowingly sell expired food items. But my faith was misplaced, received the replacement box of kcups promptly, with an expired date!!!

I don't know if the coffee loses any of it's flavor when it has recently passed it's expiration date, but kcups are too expensive, even on sale, to find out. Besides there are other places to buy kcups.

The customer service representative kept telling me what a great deal I got at the $10.99 per 18 kcup box.

I wonder if Kohls management would go into a grocery store, buy food
passed it's expiration date, and say, it was on sale, so that's o. k.

I've purchased a lot over the past few years from Kohls, in their stores and online. My large family shops there frequently. At Christmas our church buys gifts for area kids in need. This past Christmas about 85% of those gifts were purchased at Kohls. That was 26 kids we spent $125.00 each.

My point, what happened? I called to get my problem solved, just a minor mistake. Their response, yes, you got a box of coffee passed it's expiration date, and if we send you a replacement box it might be expired also. AND IT WAS.

very helpful review.

since the kcups shipped from the same warehouse, it was likely all their stock was expired.
