Lowe's - Poor Installation and Post Sales Customer Service
Installation, Customer Service - Complaint
PRESCOTT, ARIZONA -- I had a great sales experience buying my washer and dryer - the sales person was very knowledgeable. Somewhat disappointed that it took more than a week to get both appliances because the dryer wasn't in stock.
I was told that they aren't licensed to install gas appliances, so the gas dryer would need installation by someone of my choice. Buy at Home Depot -everything is included.
The installers came and positioned the washer, installed the hoses, 'leveled' it, and tested it for leaks. The dryer was put in place and 'leveled'; they didn't connect the vent hose or anything else because of the gas line. They asked me to inspect it and sign that everything was o. k. We looked at it, couldn't see anything, and I asked the installer if everything looked o. k. to him and if he saw any nicks or dents - he said it was good, no problems.
The next day the dryer installer came. Neither of the appliances was actually level, the feet had to be adjusted. The dryer door has a crease in it - looks like something was leaned up against it and dented it. No paint was chipped.
I called the appliance department and told them about the dent. He said I signed for it so there's nothing they would do. I suggest they use the policy used by Ashley Furniture - customers have three days to inspect the items and let them know if anything is wrong.
Poor response by the appliance sales person, no offer of any type of assistance.
