Clorox Informative - Is Clorox duping the consumer

Review by squirreldog on 2005-10-08
Did you know that Clorox bleach is 6% sodium hypochlorite and 94% other (inert) ingredients?
Did you know that Clorox Clean-up with bleach is
1.84% sodium hypochlorite and 98.16% other ingredients?
Did you know that Tilex mold and mildew remover
and Tilex mildew root penetrator and remover both
contain 2.4% sodium hypochlorite and 97.6% other
Compare the price of a gallon of bleach to a 32oz. bottle of either of these products and you
will see the point of this comment. In all fairness to Clorox, they do give instructions on
the back of their bleach label to dilute bleach
for household cleaning. But nowhere on these other
products do they tell you that these other products are only diluted bleach.
Just thought you should know.

Why is Clorox duping us and what do they claim that you are debating? The term bleach means a whitening agent, which it is. If you wanted it to be pure chlorine, don't expect to have any clothes left when the washer's done.

You know people will pay for the convenience of not having to mix their own bleach cleaners. Also, sometimes some of us may want to clean things with something with a little more "body" to it than bleach. Hence the reason we buy other products. I hope you can sleep better now that you have exposed Clorox though.

Some of their products have a nicer smell then just plain bleach. And it doesn't burn your nose with the strength that straight bleach would have.
