Credit Card Point Redemption - Complaint
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS -- American Express has made their points program difficult, if not impossible, to redeem. It's not that they are the lowest interest rate in the country. Supposedly, their customer service is supreme. However, that was years/eon's ago. My experience in trying to redeem my points two weeks ago is now magnified by the impossible task my husband has undergone this past week in order to redeem his. It began over a week ago and we have been told story after story as to why there has been complications in the redemption. I could wallpaper my bathroom with the apologies. We were even told "the redemption card is being delivered by UPS" and expected it today only to find out that we were again lied to! Finally, we spoke to a manager (who play an expert game of Dodge the customer) and all we could get from that effort was to be told there was nothing they could do. NO REASON. They "think" it may be held up in the fraud dept...really? How's that? Is there an alert on your screen? Answer, NO. So, it's just another story and one that is no more believable then the others we were told. I hope they read this message because there is not a person in the US or foreign country that needs this headache. As to our cards, we will definitely be leaving home without them! No credit card use, no points to redeem!....looking now for a replacement - with a lower rate!
