WOW (Work out World) Complaint - Deceptive offers from the WOW gyms

Review by diane38 on 2005-10-10
NEW BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS -- A card was sent out with the offer of $15.00 per month membership clearly stating "No Enrollment Fee!!" "No Commitment!" (see card here: I called the store to verify it was a legitimate offer and was assured it was. Upon arrival I was told the exclamation points were actually to be used as asterisks and the "No Enrollment fee!!" is on the $49.99 membership. I have more information on my website addressed above but I believe this is totally fraudulent and they should be made to honor this offer to everyone they sent this card to. Would like opinions and comments on how I can go about enforcing this desire. Thanks.

Was there another spot on the card where "!!" was used prior to additional printing? Asterisks are not the only means of directing your attention to another place for further information. Many symbols are used and this may be the method this business uses.

The whole thing seems pretty shady to me. I understand that you feel you were wronged and want to make it right but I think you should just be thankful that you didnt join a gym that uses obviously deceptive business practices.
