BEAVERCREEK, OHIO -- On 2/24/12, I purchased a living room set and bedroom set at Value City Furniture in Beavercreek, OH. Delivery of the furniture occurred on 2/29/12. After the delivery, I was going to put the bed together and was unable to find the screws/hardware necessary to assemble. I was opening the drawers to check for the hardware, and noticed that one of the handles was broken on the dresser drawer. The broken handle was scratching the drawer. I called the store and spoke with the assistant manager, Kathy, regarding the scratched drawer and the missing screws. Kathy was very rude. She asked "do you realize you bought a floor model" suggesting that because I purchased the bedroom set at a discounted price of $700, I should have expected a scratched furniture with no screws to assemble the bed. We exchanged several calls back and forth, each time she was nastier than the last. Eventually, I had to return to the store to pick up the screws necessary to assemble the bed, after waiting for 20 minutes I was told they didn't have screws and I would have to wait until Saturday for someone to come out. Long and short of I spent $700 for my son to be sleeping on the floor. I will not be returning to VCF!
