Guard Master and Ashley Furniture - Do not buy GuardMaster insurance!!

WESTBURY, NEW YORK -- I bought a sectional sofa from Ashley Furniture 2 years ago. I also bought- for $200 GuardMaster insurance to cover it for 5 years. Well, 1.5 months ago the leather started to peel off the sofa. I left numerous messages at GuardMaster and nobody got back to me. Finally 8 days ago they did. I immediately faxed the info they needed and was told that they would get back to me within a couple days. Now a week later I've had it! Called them back numerous times and lost my head- swore into their messaging. Then I demanded to get a call back today. I called them once every hour until they called back. They claim that they have 48 hours to return calls- which was a lie. Is this the way to run a business? I think not! I'm going to pursue this until I get satisfaction!!!

You might try contacting the New York consumer agency at http://www.dos.ny.gov/consumerprotection about this. Looking at some of the reviews here and on other sites concerning Ashley and it's 'furniture insurance' it doesn't look like they spend a lot of time on customer satisfaction.
