Another issue with Sears "customer service"
Sears gift card - Complaint
DICKINSON, TEXAS -- Well, it appears Sears gift cards are also affected by issues. I received a gift card due to a delivery issue with a Sears appliance in June 2011. After agreeing to the gift card, I received it via email and printed it out. It is supposed to be valid either online or at a "participating Sears store". I chose to use it at a store to get full benefits of the "reward" and not pay shipping.
This morning, I tried to present it at a Sears Parts & Supplies store with the purchase of laundry detergeant. I was told by a Sears associate and her supervisor, "Since this specifies 'Sears Roebuck & Company' and we are 'Sears Parts & Supplies', we cannot accept this gift card." So, even though "Sears" is attached to both stores and they are owned by the same corporation, I cannot use this gift card????
My initial complaint was of inconvenience by the Sears appliance delivery man not showing up to deliver my appliance after I was scheduled for delivery, took off work to wait all day for nothing. For that inconvenience, I was given a gift card. Of course, I was not told the gift card is only accepted at a "participating Sears store"! Calling the phone number on the card does not help. There is no listing of "participating Sears stores" on the card. So, the customer has to use their time, energy and gas to FIND a "participating Sears store" to cash in the gift card that was given for Sears' initial subpar service!
This is par for the course for Sears. Yet, another DISAPPOINTED service by Sears. We'll see if this review and an email to the initial person who gave the Sears gift card will help. IF I get to use this card, I will NEVER spend another penney at Sears! Period.
