Hotwire is BS
Car and hotel rental - Complaint
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- Just spent 3 hours in total trying to get a refund for an overcharge, let me explain.
Bought a Hotwire deal for SLC. Hotel and car.
Used hotel, got car, and when returning car even early, I was presented with a bill for 130.00 for two days, so they bill me 130.00 to my credit card. Fox Car Rental told me they did not have an arrangement with Hotwire to rent cars and I asked, well then, how did you get my reservation? Those idiots couldn’t answer that question. So now I am at the counter trying to call Hotwire, showing the Fox people my Hotwire receipts for $474.00 that includes the car rental. So now I am out 474, plus my 130.
After arguing for 45 minutes and missing two bus returns to SLC airport, I return to SLC with the issue unresolved and then miss my flight. 150 change fee no involved too.
The next hour I spend still trying to get Hotwire either to answer the phone and or speak English. Neither they do well.
The next day, I call Hotwire again, spend an hour on the phone and have to go through 3 managers until I get to corporate. Aris in corporate, after arguing about my compensation for my time and the extra expense agreed to provide me a credit for the 130.00. Nothing for my time and any other expense. She will process the 130 after I SEND HER MY RECEIPT. Cant she get that from her supposed partner, Fox?
I will NEVER use them again. Or Fox Car Rental for that reason.
Is there some reason all of these “cheap” places use people who can't speak English too?
