Bad Customer Service Manager

MOBILE -- I have been going to Golden Corral on Schillinger Road in Mobile Alabama for over 13 years. I have never had such bad customer service as I and others have had within the past few months. The assistant manager there name Julie is always very rude to the customers. One example of many, I usually go there on Sundays after church and for the past four Sundays when we get there for breakfast (around 10-10:15 am) there is only limited breakfast food there for the customers. I asked assistant manager Julie, "Can someone make some eggs" and her reply is, "You should get here on time because they are now loading lunch..."

Loading lunch... it's only 10:10 am and I paid for breakfast and asked for eggs. She says she is busy and we should go to another place for breakfast because we are late. The hours say we can get breakfast on Sunday until 11:00 am but Julie tell us that she stops serving at 10:10 am so she can put out the lunch menu. I have witness many customers come for breakfast and leave or get turned away by Julie for her bad attitude and customer service. I have been in customer service business for over 30 years and never would I let her work for me with her attitude with the customers.

She shouldn't be there in charge if she is not there to serve the customers. I listen to customers talk about her bad customer support and most say they will never return because of this. I love Golden Corral but I'm starting to feel like many other customers and thinking about finding another place to eat. I have lived in this area for over 20 years and my position is very well known. I know many people and if Julie is not removed from her position I will contact the local news and other media to inform them of the service we are getting from Julie at this Golden Corral.

Most people come here to eat on Sunday morning after church and expect to have an enjoyable time with family and eat breakfast but Julie has and is ruining it for lots of families. I know about 80% of the staff there because I have been going there for over 13 years and they are very friendly but their hands are tied when they try to assist you because of Julie (I have personally witness it). I hate to see a wonderful restaurant go down because of one bad manager.

I know the restaurant manager and she is a very friendly lady but when she is not there Julie makes it a bad experience for many people (especially the new comers). I alone with others will hate to stop going to this restaurant so PLEASE TAKE THE NECESSARY ACTIONS TO SAVE YOUR CUSTOMERS. Thank you.

Harassed Over Service Dog

RICHMOND, KENTUCKY -- I walked across the restaurant and I saw my daughter with her service dog very upset talking to a gentleman. I went to go see what the problem was and he said he was the manager and she couldn't be there with her dog. I explain it was a service dog and she absolutely could be in there with it. He just threw his hands up at me. When my daughter got back to the table she told me he was asking her why she needed a service dog which by the way is against federal law. I told the man he needed to leave her alone.

5 minutes later she got up to fix her a plate and my older son went with her, my son came back to the table to tell me that the manager was harassing her and she was upfront crying in front of everybody!! I went to see what was wrong and she was in a full blown panic attack and he was standing with his arms crossed, smiling. I asked him what he thought he was doing and he said he didn't believe she needed the dog and customers were complaining. My daughter ran outside and went back to the table to let the rest of my family know what was going on. The waitress came over and was apologizing profusely. I explained it was not her fault.

We stood outside for a while trying to get my daughter to calm down and several other customers got upset and came out to make sure my daughter was ok. When we showed the manager Feliciano ** the law he said he didn't care. When we told him we were reporting him to the owner, he grinned and said, "I don't care," and when we told him we were reporting him to the ADA he said, "I don't care." They only thing good that came of it is we met a bunch of caring citizens that gave us their phone numbers in case we need them for witnesses.

Worst Customer Service Ever

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA -- Complaint Type: Customer Service Issues
Description of Complaint: On 02/14/2019 My husband and I went to dinner at Golden Corral at 8 pm. We had just sat down with our food when a server Lisa Lyons came up to our table and told me that I need to keep my F--king mouth shut and if her niece wants to see her brother then I F--king better let her. She then continued to call me a meth headpiece of sh-t this she yelled thru out the restaurant. Lisa Lyons is of no relation to my son. I went up to speak with the manager who could have cared less as he let her continue to wait tables on the floor he did not bother to give his name and only gave me my money back after I asked for it. I am a general manager at a hotel so I know how customers are to be treated. I was contacted by a John Bailey who on Thursday the 15th who said thats not what the employee said happened and he had to watch the security tapes and would get back to me on Monday 02/18/2019. I waited till Monday afternoon and called Mr. Bailey back. Mr. Bailey proceeds to call me a liar and that the employee has worked there for many years and that he can't find anything on the security tapes. I hung up on Mr. Bailey First you never call a customer a liar. 2nd you do not allow an employee to talk to a paying customer that way. Messages from Mr. Bailey I will be happy to compensate you meals at another location. I would have been happy to discuss the matter further but you hung up on me. The employee has been talked to and we have investigated. The employee is not being terminated but we do have strict guidelines on professionalism. I am the one to talk to about as we are a franchise. As I stated earlier we have spoken to all parties at the restaurant and dealt with internally. I got the voicemail you left corporate a few minutes ago and again we dealt with internally. I will be happy to give you a gift card to another restaurant as we do want you to have a good experience at Golden Corral Most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life an employee can verbally attack a customer and they get a talk.
Desired Settlement: Contact by the Business
Desired Outcome Description: Lisa Lyons need to be terminated if not terminated then suspended and made to take customer service classes the same needs to happen to Mr. Bailey.

Treated Like We Were Stupid by General Manager.

LAURINBURG, NORTH CAROLINA -- We always go to Golden Corral for breakfast. We got our plates and went up to the bar first. There was no biscuits to eat. So there was a gentleman standing that was dressed in a Golden Corral outfit. I ask him if there was a bar where they fix eggs and omelets. He wheeled on me and said "right there is eggs and there is the stuff for an omelet". He showed me scrambled eggs. I was so humiliated that I turned to our party and said "let's go, we're not going to eat here".

My husband went and got our money back and ask to talk to the manager and the same gentleman said "I am the general manager and I have been here for 8 yrs". Well he proceeded to argue with me and said he didn't disrespect me but he did. I told him I would be tuning him in. He said "do what you got to do". There were more people complaining, I just don't think he could handle the pressure. The is a good stop for people going to Myrtle Beach; if you don't do something this restaurant will continue to go down. General manager Robert **. He need an attitude adjustment. My husband told him he should have left his attitude outside the door when he came in.

Witnessed Disorderly Conduct

INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA -- I was at the Golden Corral on East Washington Street Indianapolis Indiana on Saturday January the 4th 2015 at approximately 5 o'clock. I witnessed an older black lady snapping on another male employee and threw his jacket at him. This is not the first time that I have witnessed the server Cynthia snapping on a employee. She has no manners, she is rude and ghetto. The management does nothing but move her to the other side of the room. I work food service and if we were to snap on each other in the dining room we will be fired. This lady has been there for I've been going for like a year and she's been there they just need to get rid of her. Again her name is Cynthia , a black lady.

MCDONOUGH, GEORGIA -- First, $18 is too much to pay for skinny 65 year old women that's only eating a small salad, one piece of small chicken, of fish and one cup of coffee or tea. (One trip to the bar.) Secondly, the waitress acted as if she shouldn't have been there (displeasing disposition). And finally, she wiped her nose with her hand as she poured my tea. I politely got up and left. I believe if you have a cold like symptoms, you should take that day off. If you have a fever and or diarrhea, take the day off because, this is very contagious. Lower your prices, you'll get customers and retraining your staff will be beneficial to your business and your customers!

Pit Bull Dog in the Restaurant

Rating: 2/51

SPRINGFIELD MO, MISSOURI -- We recently visited the location in Springfield on a Sunday. We were seated at a table in the back. A man comes in with a woman and she has a pit bull on a leash. Every time she would pass the dog would try to get it's nose up to our table. Made me a little nervous. Upon closer examination I see the animal has a "service animal" harness on. The give away was the choke collar (the one with the prongs that dig into their neck). She had to constantly tell the dog to stop, sit down, stop that. I'm hearing all this because she's sitting behind me.

Five minutes later and she's going back to the buffet. Five or six times. Each time her plate is piled high. My wife sees her oh so big purse with her oh so big zip lock inside. Steak, roast beef, prime rib, chicken; all meat every time. "This ol gal can put it away" I thought. My wife told me later where it was going. The people next to them were becoming annoyed with the dog and said something to her. She immediately calls for the manager and complains that the steak was tough. He gives her the meal free. They leave fat and happy with a weeks worth of meat. You will never see a choke collar on a service dog. They are well trained and totally attentive to their masters. The folks at GC need to watch a little closer and use some common sense cause y'all got hustled. 😎

Disappointing

MONROE, NORTH CAROLINA -- Really? $34 for two seniors to eat? And we were disappointed in the quality of the food. The mac & cheese tasted as if it were from a box, the dressing was bland, vegetables (broccoli and cauliflower) had no salt, and the sausage gravy was a white sauce with A FEW crumbles of sausage. There were areas on the buffet with no food. We were most disappointed in the quality. Wait staff was fine and pleasant, cleanliness was acceptable except when a girl with hand full of dirty dishes was wiping down the bakery counter with a rag that looked less-than-clean. We had not been there in a long time and will likely not return.

CHESEPEAKE SQUARE, VIRGINIA -- My mom & I came to Golden Corral on September 1st, 2019 in Chesapeake Va. Yes I have contacted them & did not even receive an apology or anything. I will not be going back to this restaurant after how we were treated. The 1st waitress we never saw. The 2nd waitress came after we had to ask another person for a refill & that person didn't even want to give it to us. She barely put the drink near my mom & walked away as fast as she could. Now this used to be the best 1 but not anymore. Never in my life have I been treated this way & they can't even send out an apology. I will not be giving my business to them.

RUTHER GLEN VA, VIRGINIA -- I would like to tell you all about an experience that I had yesterday as being a handicap person. I have as three heart attacks, Legionnaires' disease, mini stroke and then I had my leg cut off which means sometimes I ride a handicap scooter. I have gone into restaurants many times and the restaurants has never once said anything about me having my handicapped scooter which that means I only have one leg. Yesterday we went into this restaurant Golden Corral at 2647 Ruther Glen VA. It is located in the flying J Travel Plaza.

The waitress we had was wonderful. It was another young lady. They took it upon herself to come to our table and tell me that my handicap scooter was a fire hazard. That I could not keep it at my table. That meaning if a fire broke out if no one came to get me or to bring me my scooter I would have burned to death since I have been handicap. I've only had a couple people with some smart remarks. This is the first time that I've ever been into a restaurant that I was told this. You do not know how bad that hurt me. To know that if I'm able to make myself get up go out and live my life. To have someone in a restaurant to tell me I am not allowed to have the equipment that I need to live with in my hand reach. Needless to say I would never ever go to that place again.
