flat tire service - Complaint
AKRO, OHIO -- I phoned from the parking lot of a medical building for assistance with a flat tire, I was told I'd have assistance within 40 minutes. My next conversation after 50 minutes was that it would be 15-30 minutes longer; when I asked if they could call another provider they said they only had a contract with one in my area, Akron, Ohio. The next call was that they couldn't find me, I provided landmarks and identified a cross street. Help never came. I changed the tire myself, and two hours after my initial call for help received a call that they were on site. I am not convinced that they were at the right location even then, as they kept insisting on identifying the building by a tenant name and not the address, the tenant name they referred to was not on the building sign. The staff was very unpleasant during every phone call. I spoke with the manager the next day and got a string of excuses from they had the wrong address; to "we were very busy last night" (on a mild spring day, at 6). AAA is a very ineffective "middle man", just call for help directly. They have agreed to refund my membership fees since this was the first time I tried to use the services. I purchased the service as I frequently travel cross country; I told the manager that I wanted a refund, since if they can't help me in a metro area; how will they help me in Wyoming or Colorado?
