MUHLENBERG, PENNSYLVANIA -- I have a 2003 xl 7 I purchased brand new in DEC 2004. When I had it inspected in April of 2008 it had 57000 miles and required the real axle seals to be replaced. When I had it inspected in April of 2009 it had 64000 mile and again requires new rear axle seals. In March of 2010 I had it checked before inspection it had 68,900 miles and yet again need new rear axle seals. Here we are March of 2012 it has 88,500 miles and yet again it need new rear axle seals. What a rip off !!!!

A post at a website I found claims that there is a Suzuki service bulletin on this issue:
http://www.aboutautomobile.com/Complaint/2003/Suzuki/XL7/Axle+Shaft+Seal

It may be wise for you to inquire at the dealer about what the bulletin says. It would be interesting to know why they fail.

This is a ridiculous headache and expense to have to deal with every year or two.
