DENVER, COLORADO -- DishTV wraps its offerings in piles of unwatchable channels. By the time I finished deleting all the advertising channels, I was left with 22 channels + sports and movie channels on my $35 subscription. 5 of the 22 were news channels including the Russian Propaganda Channel (RT). That leaves just 17 channels, most of which are not worth watching. We figured out there were only 4 that we would watch with any regularity.
It is high time some company streamed cultural channels to my Roku box. That would worth paying for.

When Dish TV advertises the number of channels you get it is misleading. They also count music channels to get to their advertised numbers. It looks like they have transported you back to the 50's when ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS were your choices(If you had a good antennae.) I live in Florida and some of my friends have installed the new antennae to get free tv. I was amazed at the clarity of the channels and the numbers available. In this area you get about 20 channels.

Unless you are a music, sports, or news junkie, you will find that true of probably all the cable/satellite providers. Unless you subscribe to premium channel packages, more than half of the other packages will be filled with a majority of music, news, and sports channels.
