AVOID DirecTV! Run, run as fast as you away from them!
"Free HD DVR" service - Complaint
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA -- My wife and I have been DirecTV customers for about 8 month now, switching from Dish Network over to DirecTV. At first we though we were doing the right thing, because the bill cost was going to go down, but boy was I wrong! So, when we called DirecTV they told us about their "great" promotions which we fell into, we were sucked by their lies, I was told they carried National Geographic with optional Spanish audio but they were downright lying, I called and asked them why wasn't Na Geo with Spanish audio they told it wasn't in Spanish all the time... first lie.
Ok, I let that happened. We had to descontinue a lot of their "free" features since our bill was way, way over the top, and despite this, our bill keeps on coming rather expensive because we are now stuck to this 2-year contract agreement for the "free HD DVR" crap, so I contacted DirecTV hoping they could remove that from my service since I was told beforehand I could remove it at anytime... but when I called I was told they couldn't do it without me losing all my recordings and not only that I would have to PAY $100 for each receiver!!! Plus the activation, fee, taxes, atc., Seriously... Oh and before this, we moved from Delano, CA to Bakersfield, CA and they charged us 100 bucks for the moving!!!!! Are you kiddn me?!?!?! So please, please, please guys STAY AWAY from DirecTV!!!! Don't you buy their stuff, I will do everything in my power to prevent people from moving to DIRECTV... they're nothing but an evil, ugly, money-grabbing company!!
