Travel Electric Scooter - Complaint
ON LINE, CALIFORNIA -- I have been trying to get a travel electric scooter since June, 2011. I am not able to walk or use my left side. My request went through Medicare at first and they rejected it because I have Medicare complete through United Health Care. I have been sent around and around in circles and now they say I need the approval of the IPA associated with my plan, which is St. Mary's Hospital.
I have never been in St Mary's and no one at United knows exactly who to contact about the approval. My Doctor wrote the prescription back in 2011 and they sent the request to Wheelchair Professionals, who have now stopped calling me and when I call United customer service each person has some other information from the last or know nothing to do. This is very, very frustrating to say the least. I am
trying to get a benefit I am entitled to, it should not be this hard!
