Econo Lodge - Terrible Service @ Check-in By General Manager/Owner

PENSCOLA, FLORIDA -- This Man is a disgrace to the company. I thought when he realized I was from India also perhaps he would show me some hospitality but none was shown, he was rude, took him almost 10 minutes to check me in, although the hotel was basically empty, when we required about getting a downstairs room he said he had some but was saving them for people that paid a higher rate. We had our mother with us who was aging and asked if we could have a handicap room since we had a sticker for her and he said no my mother was quite upset especially since he said he was from India also. He told her Mam I own this hotel and if you do not like my rules your family can find another hotel to stay in. So that's exactly what we did. We had stayed here several months ago when the other manager from England was here I believe his name was Yogi, so we decided to come back but never again. I will get on My India Travel web sight and make sure everyone knows to never stay at this hotel. you should bow your head in shame if you allow this bad behavior to continue, I'm an Inn Keeper also and he is giving us all a bad name.

Odd turn of events, a lot of the cheaper Econo Lodge motels are owned and run by Patel's, who are from India. Guess this one is not.

Why would your "being from India" make him have more consideration for your stay? I think that next time you are traveling with your "aging' mother that you make arrangements beforehand for a downstairs room and any other accommodations that you may need.

Also I don't know what you mean by "we had a sticker for her"?

Also, I don't think that a 10 minute check in time is unreasonable at all.
