Chinatown - Delivery Takes Way Too Long
1.5 hours, really? - Complaint
KENTWOOD, MICHIGAN -- I placed an order with Chinatown tonight. Chinese food. A couple of egg rolls, crab Rangoon, sweet & sour chicken and chicken kung pow. Pretty straightforward stuff. I was told it would be delivered within 30 to 40 minutes.
After 50 minutes, I called to see what the status was. The lady said "You food coming."
I asked to which address the food she referenced was going to, and all she said was "You food coming next."
At this point, I was annoyed. The delivery was now late and I had no real info from Chinatown about the status of my order. The total bill was to be a little over $24, and I had set aside $35. Since it was now more than 50 minutes and no food in sight, I took away $5.
When an hour had passed, I took away another $5. I don't tip for inept delivery. By the time the food was finally delivered, an hour and a half had passed.
Really? An hour and half to deliver Chinese food every bit of two miles? What if I had gone to their restaurant and was seated -- would it have taken one and a half hours, or even an hour, or even 45 minutes to serve me?
It would be nice if this Chinese food was spectacular and worth the wait, but it ain't.
My advice is if you are West Michigan and want Chinese food -- order Chinatown food **only** if you are not hungry and have lots of time to wait. I was actually leaving my house to go get some other food when they finally showed up. An hour and a half to deliver basic Chinese food. Please. Chinatown ain't worth it.
