Wal-Mart Strikes Again - Second Dead Battery and Only 2 Months Old
Maxx Car Battery Not Really a Battery After All - Complaint
I wrote a review two months ago about the car battery I bought at WalMart, and died after 9 months:
In it I detailed the expected poor customer service I received when I returned it for a replacement. I went to start my car yesterday, and voila, the replacement is deader than a doornail.
The brand of both batteries was Johnson Controls, which has a good reputation generally speaking. I blame WalMart though, because they encourage companies to squeeze the price down and in the process the quality.
My advice is, if you are going to save $20-60 by buying a car battery at WalMart, be double-triple-dog darned sure to keep your receipt. You'll probably need it. Better yet, don't waste your time...
