Dish Network Complaint - My bad experience with Dish Network Services
RORCHESTER -- I had a very very bad experences with Dish Network. Here is my story.
I ordered Dish Network services a year ago. At the installation time, the service guys asked me whether they could use my in-house cable wire for Dish network services. I told them no because I use cable for internet service. They said that was fine because they could keep the internet service. However I would not be able to watch the cable TV after they switch the wire. I thought it was fine since I wouldn't watch cable TV any more. They said someone can switch my wire back to the cable TV after I cancel the dish network service in the future. So I let them use the in-house wire. Since I use internet service, I didn't cancel the cable TV because using internet service without cable TV will incur $10 montly charge, which is only $5 dollar less than the cable TV charge.
The dish network TV went OK for 8 or 9 months. I was able to watch TV in good weather days. In bad weather days, I couldn't watch the TV, but that's understandable. I would not complain about that.
About 2 or 3 months ago, I couldn't be able to watch TC from 6PM to 10 PM. The TV just shows an error message complaining the signal being too weak. I called the customer service and that guy was impatient. After asking me to push buttons on my remote control to check the signal, he transferred me to another department. The guy told me I need to pay them $99 to have someone to look at it. I was kind of surprised because I thought I should get free service for this. I asked him whether it is possible to get free service, and he saied no.
Fine, since I don't watch much TV at night, I thought I could live with it. Several weeks ago, things got worse, the TV started to lose singals at daytime sometimes, so I called dish network service to cancel the service. This time, the representative told me she could send one to my house do a FREE check. I told her no. I asked for free service 2 months ago, I didn't get it, and now i don't want it. I am frustrated. She then cancelled my service.
Now I need someone switch my wire back to cable TV, right? Oh, and I remember the guy told me someone will switch back for me for free. So I called Dish Network service again on several days ago, a lady told me she was not sure so she transferred me to another department, which I got busy signals.
Thursday morning, I called Dish network again, another lady picked my call, she listened my story and told me she didn't know what to do with this. She then went to talk to her superviser, then she told me it was my cable company's responsiblity to switch it back. I asked why? I kept the cable TV service, and it was your guy who switched my wire. She told me she will transfer me to her superviser and I got to the mail box. I left a message, but never got a call back.
In late afternoon, I called again. Another lady picked up my phone. She looked at the record, and then told me I should call my cable company to do it. I disagreed and wanted to talk to her superviser or coach, so she transferred my call to her superviser.
That superviser was very impolite. He, using a tone sounds like I am bothering him, told me I need to pay them $99 to have someone come to my house to do it. I told him the installation story, then he said "It was a year ago, things changed" without more explanation...Then he said to me it is a final decision...then said "is there anything else i can help you?" to end our call.
Ok, I think it is not worth to spend time on this issue any more. I called my cable company. They agreed to come to my house to switch it.
Now I will never use Dish network services again. I will never forget this bad experience. I just want to share this story with you.
