Toyota Financial Services - Biggest Liars & Cheats I have Ever Dealt With

TORRANCE, COLORADO -- This is a follow up to a previous complaint concerning Toyota Financial Services. Having traded in a 2012 Tacoma for another, TFS still has my old payment on the account as a pending payment. When I added the new truck payment for automatic withdrawal, the old payment was still showing as pending. I called and spoke to about 7-8 different reps and tried to explain that my old account is still active, even though it was paid off 2 weeks ago. Two reps told me that my old account withdrawal will transfer the payment to my new account. This would be making 2 truck payments per month. Not one but 2 reps actually told me to open a new checking account at a different bank and to change my e-mail address.

I wrote 2 e-mails to TFS and was told that since I spoke to someone at TFS, they consider the matter closed. I called back again this morning and was told the old account is closed but "still linked to my new account". When I try to cancel the old account, it simply comes right back on the website as showing both payments are still pending. At this point I'm ready to trade my new truck in for a Ford or Nissan. I will never in my life buy another Toyota product.

TFS is supposed to be Torrance, CA not Colorado. Don't know why it says Colorado.

It sounds like those two CSR's knew some fluke in the system would be a problem. But it isn't reasonable to expect you to cancel your checking account over this.

you have 2 separate accounts.........sounds like you had the one for the *old* vehicle on auto pay. YES, the payment will still come out until the account is closed ( with the balance being paid in full) or the auto pay is canceled by you. As I said in the last complaint, it can take up to 30 days for them to get your payoff credited to your account. The dealership has to cut a certified check ( can only be done during business hours and not on nights/weekends) mail it to the payoff department, they have to process it ( 10 business days) receive the funds for it and then they will post it to your account *after* the check has cleared. Your payment that you overpaid will be returned to you.......bad news is that can take up to 30 days as well. They will mail you a check for any overages on the account.
