SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA -- On or about 2-4-12 I reserved a room for two nights, 8-10 and 8-11-2012. 6 months early. I read thoroughly my on line confirmation which stated cancellation OK through 8-9-12 with no charge. HOWEVER, upon canceling, I was notified I had chosen some sort of "reserve early discount" which does NOT allow for cancellation. Why in the world would I have opted for such a rate knowing well a lot changes in 6 months?

I feel I was bamboozeled and refuse to allow American Express to pay the charge to Holiday Inn. I have been appealing this for over a month now and will continue to do so until Holiday Inn does the right thing. WATCH OUT !!!

Sometimes it pays to read the fine print before hitting the submit button.

I have stayed at many Holiday Inn expresses. they do offer two rates. one is with cancellation available, and one is a guaranteed low price, no cancellation.
