Slumberland Inc - Franchise problems
leather sectional (reclining) - Complaint
Review by boggie on 2012-04-02
SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS -- I purchased a reclining sectional from a Francise Slumberland Stgore in Springfield IL AApril 2011...In Dec. 2011 I had a problems with the leather...I called the Manager and he said their was only a 90 day waranty on the sectional and this was a paroblem for the extended warrantly company, which I purhcased) I called the company with the extended warranty in Dec. 2011 They took care of their end promptly...However, I waited, January, February, March I thought I will call again and I also called the store. (The store had not heard from the manufacturer of the sofa and needed to contact them again. I received the repair product in 2 weeks?????The store said I had tgo pick up the parts....(I asked if thely could deliver the, since I am legally blind and cannot drive I have to rely on others to help me.....Thely did not volunteer, so I had someone pick them up for me.
Now I have another problem with the sofa. Yes the mgr of the store said the mfg. only warrants for 90 days....I called the extended warrantly companly...Great company...I did call corporate and asked the m how long the mfg warrantly is and athey said one year.....I am confused, because the franchise (which the corporate office says make up their own rules...) says 90 days, corporate says one year.
SLure am glad I bought the extended warranty, even though this does not make a one year or less 2,300 dollar item anything but junk....
I do not recommend buying from Slumberland, will stick with locally owned or Macys in the future. (Not only do you get better service and products...lthey are more considerate if you are handicapped.)
