Whirlpool- horrible washing machine/customer service

BENTON HARBOR, MICHIGAN -- Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio just over a year ago. Washing machine does not clean clothes! While under warranty a service tech came out to look at it; after hearing the problem he replied that it was a common complaint and that he could not "fix" the machine because the problem was that it is so poorly made that it simply does not work. His recommendation was to come to terms with the loss of a thousand dollars as Whirlpool would not rectify the problem.
Whirlpool really showed their true colors when they refused to cover the repair tech visit. Whirlpool supervisor Kitty #3624 explained to me that "customer advice" was not covered under warranty and that we would have to pay the bill. Highlights of her argument were that we should just rinse the clothes multiple times and they would eventually get clean. She also mention that if the machine really did not work as described that we should have complained sooner even though it was still under the one year warranty. WHIRLPOOL WILL SELL YOU JUNK, BACKED WITH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE; BEWARE!
