Priceline.com - Take Away From It
Hotel Bidding via priceline.com - Complaint
I was cheated by Priceline.com when I bid a hotel room for one night. I was bidding a 2.5 star or above hotel after I check Priceline.com clearly cited Ramada Inn as an example of 2 star hotel in the information tab for 2 star hotels, and Priceline.com website prompted that the retail price for a 2.5 star hotel at the area I was bidding is around $120, so I bid with $80 and I ended with a Ramada Inn for $80.
Now the itinerary indicates Ramada Inn as 2.5 star hotel. I checked the retail price of this hotel and it only charges $55 for a night. I called back to Priceline.com for cancellation since I do not like Ramada Inn from my previous experience and I have set the bidding to exclude Ramada Inn based on priceline's rating information. Priceline customer service refused my request first stating that Ramada Inn is not Ramada hotel then said the Ramada Inn at different location has different rating. So you might get cheated if you use Priceline.com.
