SACRAMENTO -- I ordered food through a website that didn't "food to you" and the food came from a company that didn't mention "food to you". It turns out, that someone from food 2 you called - from a BLOCKED NUMBER - and told me they had 2 orders from me and that I had to tell them what they were. They didn't identify themselves, didn't reference either website and they ordered me to tell them what I ordered and from whom (online). I asked them what orders they were refering to and they told me I had to tell them.

Since I didn't place 2 orders with this compnay and I had no idea who these people were, I did not want to tell them confidential information. They called the websites I ordered from and cancelled my order(this is a 3rd party delivery company who's only job is to deliver my food). I asked the websites afterwards why they didn't call me directly and if they were told why my order was cancelled, and they said no.

No one in their right mind will tell an unknown 3rd party what their personal details are when the company does not tell them who they are and what they want and why. I have now filed a complaint with the website and the place I ordered from because this company (food 2 you) cancelled my orders with the online company - where I ordered from - and the place the food was coming from.

I reordered with the site and the delivery company delivered my food 3 hours after the order (I have the order date/time in an online receipt and I continually called the website so they have logs of when finally got my food. They also know my food was ice cold). The food was ice cold (pasta and tempura) and the sushi was warm.

When I asked "food to you" did this (in a later conversation - I had to ask the other companies for this companys phone number) they said it was for fraud. I asked them if they asked the companies I had ordered from if I had done business with them before, or checked to see if it was the same billing address or phone number that was being delivered to they said not because it would take too long. I also asked them why they didn't identify themselves. They didn't have a response to that.

I didn't follow the complaint completely, but it sounds like multiple companies are involved when you place an order, and the process needs to be more transparent so that the customer knows what to expect. Excellent feedback.
