ILLINOIS -- I can honestly say the only thing Woodmans has got going is low prices, but this comes at a cost. They have adopted an assembly-line type atmosphere. The cashiers and baggers are pressed so hard to get you in and out, that they are not friendly. The produce is terrible. The bananas are always green, you have to search hard for apples and other fruit that don't have bruises and scratches. I don't like the bakery at all and I'm not to keen on the meat department either.

Sounds like a store to avoid. When I saw the name I thought of my store "Wegmans" and it reminded me of the Seinfeld where Kramer installs a garbage disposal in his shower. "What do you have, a Clarkman?"

seems like you're right about the obvious - low prices equal low quality. probably understaffed as well.
