ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO -- Ever since I started with this pharmacy, they have shorted me on my medications on certain occasions, claiming "that they didn't have enough medication on hand in order to fill the prescription with". Frankly with me, this is nothing but a major pain in the butt!! Sincerely, James "Jim" Wheeler.

Yes, it is a pain but a locally owned pharmacy I used would write *owe xx pills* on the container. They would have the remainder of the script a day or so later depending on when their order was placed. It was my decision to wait for the entire prescription to come in or take what they had. There was never a problem receiving the owed amount. I do now ask if a script can be filled in full when placed because most times I'll wait. My insurance will be billed for the entire amount but again I've never had a problem getting the *owed* ones.

Inconvenient yes - but depending on the store size and location, it may be the only thing they can do. My Sam's club has an automated monthly ordering setup so that my perscription is ready in full same time every month. Inquire if your pharmacy has such a program. I disagree with the service the above poster Handle is going with - seems risky in many ways - particularly if he is getting a controlled substance of some sort.

I had this happen to me once at Rite Aid. It said right on the bottle in big bold letters, "PARTIAL FILL OWE X PILLS." It is a bit of a pain to have to get it later, and this was a controled substance. But I had no problems getting the rest filled.
