Sears - Home Delivery a joke!
New refrigerator - Complaint
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- I had paid for taking away the old refrigerator. The delivery person was aware of this, but told me they had no room in the truck. He went on to explain that they would place the old refrigerator at the bottom of the driveway, and I could put a “free” sign on it! Are you kidding?! I said no. He then said they would put the refrigerator outside and call for a Sears’s pick-up at a later date.
The delivery person went out to get the new refrigerator, but came in and said that the refrigerator had a small dent in the front door. “Is that OK”, he asked. With his disapproval, (he said, no need to look at it) I went out to look at the “dent” and saw that the “small” dent was large and deep, the paint around the dent broken, there were large, black scuff marks on the door, and small dents over ¾ of the back! Only an idiot would take delivery of a refrigerator that was so badly damaged. He tried to talk me into taking the refrigerator, saying I could use it and in time Sears would come and fix the door and maybe give me a gift certificate. Are you serious? With that kind of damage, what else is wrong?
He was angry but pretty controlled, and when he left he did not put back a very heaven mirror on the wall that he had taken down. He also left the front storm door wide open. We had asked him to be careful of our cats, and especially to be careful of leaving the front door open.
I have been a Sears’s customer for decades and this is outrageous behavior and poor service on the part of your delivery service.
