Xerox Corporation -
Xerox 4110 Production Machine
DALLAS, TEXAS -- In short.....run from this company if they approach you.
I am a smaller business, ranging in the area of 50-75,000 images per month with a proprietray product. We leased this machine being told it would be overkill for what we do. It is a horribly unreliable machine, and the included service is terribly slow, especially when the need to air in parts are factored in.
One of our most recent horrible experience had us with just under 2 full weeks of complete downtime, and even then there is still one persisting problem. We have brief spurts of heavy business, and this crushed us. Within a weeks time, another problem cropped up, and they wanted to send an "analyst" at a cost of $175/hour-driving time is charged- to solve a problem despite us having a full maintenance agreement.
I had a local competitor offering a Sharp production machine that is faster, more features, more reliable(I hope, can't possibly be worse), and less equipment....the kicker being it saves us $1,300 per month. Local service, local parts stocked. It is amazing the flurry of phone calls and emails that came from Xerox when I emailed the "2nd level" support about this. Too bad that concern was completely lacking for almost 5 years.
I guess I should actually thank Xerox, it is their incompetence that drove me to seek other offers. Otherwise I'd be in ignorant Xerox bliss, because they are the biggest so they must be the best, right? I would never do business with them again.
