T-Mobile - Rebates Are A Headache
Rebate Card from T-Mobile - Complaint
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- I went in to T-Mobile to upgrade my phone. The employee discussed with me the terms and the conditions of the rebate; the rebate would be procesed in about 8 weeks. He filled out the form handed me a copy and a receipt. I was very pleased with how everything went. About 9 weeks later no rebate came in the mail, so I went back to the T-Mobile store with my rebate form to find out when I will be getting my rebate. They told me that I was supposed to send that form in.
I was shocked and very upset because I was not told to do this. I sent it in anyway right away and had to wait another eight weeks for it to be processed. The 8 weeks passed and when I called the T-mobile rebate number the recording said it has been denied. I spoke to a supervisor named Pat she told me they had no record of my rebate form. Pat told me to resend my form and wait another eight weeks for it to be processed.
Before I resent in my form I received a letter that said "Your T-Mobile account was not activated in the correct selling point per the terms and conditions stated on the rebate form for this offer. Purchases from an unqualified selling point are ineligible for the rebate program as submitted per your rebate form." Luckily I called back the rebate center and spoke to and employee named Emma. She asked for my tracking ID and several other information. When I asked her why was I denied my rebate, she said that I shouldn't have and that she will do an override and I will receive my rebate in 30 days.
I eventually received my rebate within the 28 days. My question is to Pat: How can you have no record of my information if I received the letter that I was denied the offer? In total it took over five months to receive a 50 dollar rebate from T-Mobile, yet when you buy something they want your money instantly. Over all this offer felt like a scam and if I did not keep trying to receive my rebate card I would not have. I will never do business with this company again because of my horrible experience.
