Is AMEX going to the Wall
Credit - Complaint
going to the wall? Over the last week a number of AMEX uses have had to pay in full what they have owed only to have their cards cancelled.
Not what you call good customer service.

If "going to the wall" means failing, I think not. I have owned AMEX stock for about a year and it returned 32%+ Not bad at all.
Maybe what is happening (it is hard to tell without more details) is AMEX is encouraging some account holders to look elsewhere for the privilege of being extended credit.

Depends on the type of AMEX card. Green and Gold required payment in full each month.
There really convenience cards not credit.
They give you the convenience and you give them their money each month. They make money off of yearly fees and merchant fees not interest.
