Toshiba - POOR Customer Service

I purchased a Toshiba Laptop on March 24, 2012. 30 day return policy and 1 year warranty. Within 2 weeks I contacted Toshiba Customer Service regarding a problem with the internal speakers. I took an additional 2 weeks before a technician determined there was a problem with the laptop. I was advised that the computer could be returned to the company for repair, but, I would have to pay a $25 "shipping / handling fee." Despite my argument Toshiba stood fast on that fee. My question is, why, if I purchased a new laptop, with warranties, reported a problem within 2 weeks, it was determined by Toshiba that there was a defect, why should I have to pay anything. Very poor customer relations. I will be VERY, VERY, wary next time I purchase a consumer electronics product. My research will focus on quality of the product and quality of customer service.

What are the details about the 2 weeks it took to determine there was a hardware issue once it was reported? It sounds like you missed the 30 days to return it for a refund, which stinks.
