LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA -- I purchased Direct Buy on 11/11 thinking that the company was going to help us save money. I was concerned because we had to sign a contract without truly being certain about it. Anyhow my husbaand andI decided to purchase a kitchen set. We ordered this on 2/3/12 and was told would take 6 weeks. That time passed and by the time we got to the 8th week will did contact. We made our 1st call and had to leave a message. No one returned our call. Called again and was told that they saw our purchase and would be deliverd from California then was to go to Noth Carolina were they would hot tag it and have it expedited to their location. At week 12 was very upset. Called 3rd time and was told that someone with similar last name ordered same set so that was not our order. Customer service called the following day and said would look into the matter by the follwing Monday. Have received several calls from customer service has been 16 weeks still have not received merchandise.

OMG these people are scam artists, just read the reviews on this site. They use slick advertising and high pressure to get you to sign-up. The fine print and loopholes are disgraceful. They want unsuspecting people who they can take advantage of. Don't walk but RUN if they ever try to sell you a membership.

What do you mean by "we had to sign a contract without truly being certain about it" ?

I don't understand how anyone is saving money with "Direct Buy" isn't the items in regular stores cheaper then in Direct buy? What does a membership cost?
Posted by Cwazychicken on 2012-04-27:
I have read that memberships to direct buy cost about 3500-5000 dollars and are not returnable. and thats for the first 3 or 7 years. And you have to sign up right now or not at all....they use pressure to take peoples money. Some people, if they spend thousands and thousands, can save money but if you just want a few sales, its not worth it.

So, if you go to one of their showrooms and decide not to join that day, you can never ever join? Never?

That kind of sales pressure would make me run (NOT walk) the other way. If you cannot give someone a cooling down period to determine if a membership is right for them, then forget it. There are too many other places to spend your hard earned money without being taken advantage of.

Well u can but you have to wait 7 years reneh, so in my opinion, i dont see how its worth it. Have read way too many horror stories with this company. If you are doing a house renovation then maybe you will save but if not, then i think its money down the drain.

Tells people what to expect. I guess its 4999 for a 3 year membership then 190 a year after that....must sign up or miss your chance. Heck i cant afford that even if i wanted to....lol

Plus i have read a lot of stories of people waiting months for merchandise and they have to pick it up directly at a direct buy.
