Staples - $10 Tune Up Cost Me $200 and My Computer Disintegrated
Staples $10 Tune Up - Complaint
LIMERICK, PENNSYLVANIA -- My computer was being slow and I saw an ad for Staples where they would clean up, tune up your computer and get it running right again. So I took it in and paid my $10. They called to say that my hard drive was disintegrating. They would try to save as much information as possible and had a one gigibyte hard drive they could install for $200. If I didn't want the new hard drive I would still have to pay them to save my information to a disc. So I went ahead with them replacing my hard drive.
About a month later the computer start shutting down after a certain amount of time which got less and less. I went online and bought an HP all in one which is great. Eventually I took back my Dell to Staples and they said that the hard drive had disintegrated and they couldn't retrieve any information. They wouldn't give me any money back because they said they weren't responsible for the hard drive they installed, the manufacturer was and that they stood behind their work for 30 days. Today my daughter's lap top was freezing up on her and she was going to stop at Staples to see if they could fix it. Nooooo I told her. So she took it to Best Buy. They fixed and didn't charge her anything. Guess who I recommend. Staples will never get another penny from me.
