AT&T Wireless - Never Authorize Billing Even Once Directly to a Credit Card or Bank Account
TEXAS -- Two months ago I made the mistake of trying to be a nice guy by giving AT&T a one time authorization to bill me for my estranged wife's cell phone account. Even with explicit explanation that this was a one time authorization never to be duplicated and notations of the same to the payment they have billed me twice more for her services.
I complained and was given assurances and a Credit Memo number that was to be credited with the assurance it would not happen again. Of course I never received the credit and have been billed a third time since.
When I tried to complain again I was told that without the new password on my wife's account they could or would not help.
Once they have your information you are helpless to stop them from charging your bank account as long as they please short of closing your bank account.
