CIGNA - Employment Request
CONNECTICUT -- I recently applied for a Receptionist/Office Asst. for CIGA on 5/15/12. I receieved an email from Robert on 5/16/12 stating that I should download YAHOO Messenger and add Dona to my contacts "ASAP" to schedule an online briefing and interview. I followed the instructions and was excited to begin.
At first Dona appeared to be quite nice. Started with a good morning and some chit chat, I suppose to put me at ease. She then gave me a breakdown of her credentials and years of experience at CIGNA. She asked me if I was ready to procede with the briefing and interview and I was. Dona asked me what position I would be applying for and I replied Clerical Admin. I will also preface this by saying that I let her know in the beginning that it was a Reception position that I was interested in.
As she listed the description I noticed that it was leaning more toward an accounting position, which I have no experience. I let her know that there was obviously a miscommunication and I apologized for wasting her time. I didn't see the need to continue since I did not have the qualifications to do so.
I was fine with that until she just simply said....'Go Away". That's it no thank you or sorry about the misunderstanding, just "Go Away". If that is the attitude of the people that work at CIGNA maybe I am better off for not working there.
My question is, however, does anyone really look at the resumes before forwarding them on? I applied for a Reception position. I believe that my resume should have been forwarded accordingly. I have to say that I was quite disappointed, I would figure that someone with the 20 years experience that she claims to have in "doing the right thing for our clients" would have ended on a better note.
