Sears - Extended warranty covers appliance ONLY if they SAY it does
KitchenAid cooktop - Complaint
CANTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- We purchased a KitchenAid cooktop in 2004, and the cooking surface cracked in 2012. It was covered by an extended warranty purchased from Sears. Turns out, this color cooktop (white) is no longer available, but they will replace it (no option for repair) with a BLACK one. Sorry, did I miss something? Warranty means they can replace an item with a different (worse) item even if I don't want it, and their obligation is finished? Maybe that means if my TV breaks they can replace it with a computer monitor if they feel like it. I paid money for an extended warranty, and Sears basically said (with some gratuitous rudeness on the phone), well, this is what we'll do for you, you want it or not? Yikes. Will not purchase from Sears again.
