Outback Steak House - Prime Rib

Complaint

BALLWIN, MISSOURI -- The prime rib was perfect but the au jus was fake. It tasted like bouillon cubes and worcestershire sauce. Without good au jus there's no way I'll ever get another prime rib from your restaurant. Please let me know if you are going to fix this problem then I'll be back. Like I said the prime rib was great but that au jus ruined it.

Mid level chains cut all kinds of corners, so this doesn't surprise me. I remember the days when we had a local restaurant that served up juicy prime rib dinner specials for $7.95. The meat was served with those funky colored plastic markers with the doneness on them.

I've never had prime rib at Outback terry but I'm with you. I want au jus with mine and don't bring horseradish sauce instead. There's a local restaurant here that serves prime rib only on Wednesday nights. Any size cut you might want but all are served with au jus and it's the real thing. There's a big difference.

This post illustrates why chain joints keep failing. The OP was satisfied with the prime rib, they actually got it right. All that was needed was some good Au Jus to really make it good and they put out the cheap stuff. Now the OP had a lousy meal, wrote a negative review and will probably not return. All Outback had to do was stop being cheap and serve some real Au Jus to compliment the OP's meal.

Just another example of people thinking the way they like a dish is the theonly proper way to prepare it. I don't use the au jus, I use the horseradish sauce. Just don't do what i did one night in a low light level restaurant. I misdtook the horseradish sauce for the sour cream for my potato. Mama Mia, that'sa some-s spicy potato!

I'm with Starlord on this one.

Outback does have a tasty cabernet sauce that goes great with any cut of steak. I haven't tried the Au Ju yet.
