KING OF PRUSSIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- All the reviews good Maaco bad Maaco. The problem is the parent company. Maaco franchising has no conscience. The parent company rips off the franchisees by telling them they have expertise. Next thing you know you have the blind leading the blind in a technical field. The parent company driven brands does not care and this rolls all the way down to the consumer. Do not trust Maaco or any of the driven brands group of franchises. They only care about how to put your dollars in their pockets.

It sounds like you're complaint is addressing the "bad Macco". Hopefully you've also expressed this opinion to Macco's corporate office in King of Prussia. There may be someone there that may be able to use this to improve their franchising operations. It's worth a shot, anyway.

The original post concerning the business conscience of Maaco and the support given,etc...was not posted by me, nor did I give consent to anyone to use my name for posting activities. I in no way agree with the assertions and accusations posted and on behalf of the coward that has nothing better to do with their day, I apologize for the negative statements.

I worked for Maaco corp. They do not care. They just watch franchises fail and then try to open another. They turn over franchises at a rapid pace. Maaco corp. does not apologize to anyone. All blame is put on the Franchisee. The good thing about working for a company that doesn't care is all you have to do is keep you head down and you get a pay check, no matter how bad a job you do.

Maaco' business plan has not progressed since the 1970's. They just don't have a commitment to do the work that needs to be done on modern vehicles. They refuse to update their processes or quality focusing only on low pricing. They just have not kept up with current automotive paint practices. Poor processes are what they teach their unwitting franchisees. Their operations team are all just salespeople. They don't have the technical resources to train or run a proper shop.

A few years ago Maaco tried a program called manage to own. The program would put a manager in a shop with the idea that the could work toward ownership. The program failed. The managers-would be owners saw how poorly Maaco shops performed. Since they had no real skin in the game they all walked away. Maaco does not keep owners in shops because the concept is good and makes people money, Maaco keeps owners in shops by suing people. The scenario time after time, 98% of Maaco failures are beaten down financially and mentally and just walk away. If you try and salvage your investment Maaco does everything they can to put you out of business ie. lawsuit, come after your home, your business, your equipment.
